This section could very well be called: "things that I
didn't make!" Basically, all the extras and add-ons that make the bowed
psaltery more convenient or enjoyable to play can be found here.
*Please note, these items are intended to be sold only with a
psaltery. I have priced them at virtually the same price that I pay for them, (in
some circumstances, even lower), in order to allow those that are interested in my psalteries
to get everything they need to go along with their instrument. Because of this,
I'm unable to sell these items individually on their own.

Korg CA-30 Chromatic Digital Tuner |
 |
This little device can make tuning psalteries much easier.
Unless you have an
amazing ear for different pitches, I would strongly recommend picking up a
digital tuner.
Just turn it on, play a note into the tuner, and it will
tell you what note is being played, and whether it is too high or too low.
This particular model is widely regarded as one of the most dependable,
accurate, and most of all, affordable digital tuners available. |

Korg CM-100 Contact Microphone |
 |
This accessory can be used in conjunction with the Korg CA-30 digital
tuner to help increase the accuracy and "hearing" capabilities of the
tuner.
The name "contact microphone" is a bit misleading; it is just
a small clip that plugs directly into the tuner. The clip can
then be attached to the psaltery, (usually to the bridge), and will pick
up the vibrations of the instrument through direct contact. This is useful
in noisy settings where a digital tuner's built-in microphone wouldn't be able
to hear your instrument clearly. |

Gooseneck Tuning Wrench |
 |
This is the standard wrench that is included
with all of my bowed psalteries. I prefer this wrench overall with everyday
tuning, and especially when making minute adjustments. The longer gooseneck allows you to
get a lot more leverage than other wrenches, letting you make much more
sensitive and minute turns on the tuning pin. This wrench features a hardwood handle and an 8-pointed star
recess to quickly fit the wrench to the tuning pins. (Some of the cheaper
wrenches use just a square recess.) Its overall length is 8". |

|
T-Handle Tuning Wrench |
 |
This wrench is a bit more compact than the
gooseneck wrench. This is my preferred
tuning wrench for when I am stringing new psalteries, and when I need to
make numerous, quick adjustments to the tuning pins. The handle length is roughly 5" long, with the shaft being 3".
Like the gooseneck, this wrench also features a hardwood handle, and an 8-pointed star recess to easily
index the square head of the tuning peg quickly. |

Price: $10
(This wrench can also be substituted in place of the
standard gooseneck wrench at no additional cost.)

Fractional Sized Violin Bows |
|

|
Above you will see all the bows that I offer.
They all feature a Brazilwood octagonal stick, adjustable ebony frog with
parisian eye, grip, and natural horsehair. Average lengths as pictured
from top to bottom are:
- 1/32 size: approximately 13" to 14" long
- 1/16 size: approximately 16" to 18" long
- 1/8 size: approximately 19" to 20" long
- 1/4 size: approximately 21" to 22" long
|
Price: $20 each
(All psalteries include one bow standard; the price listed
above is for an additional bow. You can also substitute any size bow
in place of
the standard 1/16 size bow at no additional cost on the order form.)

Nylon Carrying Case |

|
This nylon carrying case is well padded and is a good choice for those that
are 'on the go.' It is a forest green with black handles, while the interior
is lined with black velvet-type material.
The case also has a side-pocket (not lined) for storing all sorts of
other miscellaneous items such as: tuners, wrenches, bows, rosin, etc.
Note: The side pocket will not accommodate a 1/4 size bow. For the best
fit, I would recommend using a 1/16 or 1/32 bow instead of a 1/4 or 1/8
bow.
Also, I prefer to simply set the bow flat into the side pocket, rather
than slide it into the pouch (see picture at bottom left) as the zipper
lining can damage the bow's hair when sliding the bow in and out.
